Olie Knapp’s roots are deeply planted in Hip Hop culture since around ‘93 when Wu-Tang brought the sounds of New York City streets to a new generation. He bought his first pair of turntables in 1997 while still in high school and has never looked backed.

In 2001 Olie got his hands on an Mpc 2000 and began chopping the records he found upstairs in his dads record collection. Not long after he teamed up with his childhood friend Test who had been working on his MC skills. Together with Test, Still Waters and UZ, Hilltop Productions was formed. Olie produced two albums for the crew and DJ’d the live shows around Toronto.

Catch one of Olie Knapp’s sets in 2020 and expect to hear nothing but the finest in Hip Hop, Soul, Breaks to House music, guided by a lifetime devoted to the art of music and style. Olie has held a Thursday Night residency at 416 Snack Bar since 2011.
