A self-taught jeweller from a small town in Chile, Carola Sanchez has been an artisan her whole life. Growing up in a vibrant community back in her hometown, it was natural for her to fall in love with the arts – wood engravers, stone sculptors, weavers, and metalsmith were the soul of the city. Initially making home decor, clothes, accessories, and mixing different fabrics, materials and colours is what made Sanchez curious about applying these techniques to metals & stones – this was when she discovered her passion for jewelry making and design.
Now living in Canada for the past 14 years, she’s found Toronto the ideal place to inspire herself as a jewelry maker. Working out of her small, home-based studio, Sanchez is currently working to create unique pieces with a focus in the beauty of simplicity, elegance, and delivery in each one of her pieces. This has led to a nomination by NOW Magazine as one of the best 5 local jeweller designers in the city of Toronto, and some of her pieces were part of a recent present for Michelle Obama.
