Caught somewhere between the world of 90’s hip-hop and the tribal sounds of jungle you’ll find the DJ/production duo known as Strange City & Tele.
Strange City – an accomplished DJ and promoter – and Tele – an emcee, producer and audio engineering graduate from Metalworks – have formed a musical bond over the years. Their chemistry is a result of being really good friends that also collaborate on writing music and experimenting with sound.
In late 2015, the two formed a promotion company named People+Culture, which allowed them to collaborate extensively in a professional setting while expressing their passion for music in many different forms. Since joining forces they’ve done some really cool parties with international acts Luke Solomon, Roy Davis Jr., Axel Boman and Urulu, just to name a few. In 2017 the world saw some of their first record releases picked up from a list of prominent record labels both at home and internationally.
Beyond the studio, Toronto audiences are constantly talking about the energy these two bring to a set which has given them the opportunity to play alongside renowned acts such as Apollonia, Dennise Ferrer, and Mat.Joe. The new year brings many exciting projects already on the go with a number of remixes already being released. These two are in demand and it’s really nice to see a hometown duo making their dreams come true through hard work, talent and a genuine love for what they do.
