King Curtiss Winston is Toronto’s most creative all-vinyl DJ, celebrated for his wide-ranging musical programming and genre-blending selections.
He started DJing at a young age in downtown Toronto’s bar and club scene in the early ’90s, earning residencies at Boa in Yorkville and the Octopus Lounge. In 1998, he relocated to London, England, where he spent three years touring Europe. Highlights from that era include gigs at Fabric in London, The It in Amsterdam, and appearances connected to the Paris Love Parade.
In 2003, he returned to Toronto and rejoined the Octopus Lounge—newly relocated—while continuing to evolve his sound. Since then, he’s broadened his musical scope to include afrobeat, jazz, and Afro-Latin genres, and has been featured at venues such as Poetry Jazz Café, Boogie, and Sounds Good.
