Toronto Canada is where Jay James was born and now lives. Professionally trained in percussion and brass only added to the musicality he learned while living in Detroit Michigan aka Motown.
It was only appropriate for Jay James (2TEN) to enter this eclectic realm of music given he comes from a family and circle of DJ’s (his father a DJ and audio engineer from Jamaica) and his friend who currently work internationally as DJ’s, Juno award winning producers and performers.
He first experienced DJing in 2000 when he went to his first DEMF (Detroit Electronic Music Festival) now called Movement, and realized he wanted to be a DJ.
Starting this journey, he played in bars, clubs and parties locally and aboard, where agencies swiftly sign him for residencies in some of Canada finest establishments; Four Seasons, Hotel X, Parc Ave and even making a guest appearance in Cozumel.
With producers from Miami and South Africa presently working with him on new releases scheduled for late 2022 release, and current releases on Open Bar Music, LAD Records and Ghost Recordings NYC, 2TEN is on his ascension within the DJ community.
