Peter Primiani, formerly of 83 West Records + Camouflage Recordings has been busy in the studio building the foundation for his new label
Eclectic Rhythms.
Peter’s love for music started in the early 80’s during the break dance movement when he was first introduced to hip hop and it was there where his passion for djing began. He won many turntable battles across Canada and the US and became well known in the underground hip hop scene and played alongside the likes of Boogie Down Productions, Biz Markie, and Cut Master DC. In 1986 he stumbled upon a club in Toronto called the Twilight Zone where he heard house music being played for the very first time it was then when Peter found his passion for house music.
In the early 90’s Peter started to experiment with production and eventually launched 83 West Records, which had various artists on the label such as DJ Sneak, Mike Delgado, Mateo and Matos, and Gene Farris to name a few.
Peter’s earlier music has been played by DJs in clubs worldwide since the early 90’s. He has shared his passion and talents as a DJ and producer with house music enthusiasts across the globe. Peter held residencies at the magical Industry Nightclub and The OZ in Toronto, and headlined countless international gigs at super clubs like UK’s Ministry of Sound, Bar Rumba, Hard Times, and many others alongside some of the finest talent in the industry including Masters At Work –Little Louie Vega & Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez, Frankie Feliciano, Cajmere, David Morales, Dennis Ferrer, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, Frankie Knuckles and so many others!
