Mike Mizzi, aka The Drum Dealers, has always had a love for electronic music from as far back as he can remember. As a computer savy techy, it wasn’t long before he started playing around with software making tracks and remixes. After years of making his own beats for fun, his tracks started crossing path with label owners who encouraged their releases, but more importantly insisted he learn the artform of djing. After learning to beatmatch and mix on a pair of borrowed Techniques, it wasn’t long before his love for technology saw him experimenting with the world of controllers and drum machines.
A few years ago, the decision to rebrand under the alias The Drum Dealers was made in order to encourage more opportunity to collaborate through the creation of media, tracks and mixes, and events. After playing a few international gigs including BPM and WMC, Mizzi set his eyes on South America – playing a small tour in the beautiful country of Argentina. It was this experience that led him to bring that energy back to Toronto, opening an Argentinian Supper Club called AMA with business partner and childhood friend Sebastian Gallucci as the Executive Chef. It was all about creating a stage for local artists, as well as himself, to share the love of house music.
After selling the business in 2020, Mizzi continues to share his love for house music in and around the city. Make sure to follow him on Instagram to see what’s next for this DJ / Entrepreneur.
