Matthew Butterworth aka Butr / ButrtheButchr is the head engineer, and owns Treatment Centre Studios in Toronto, Canada.
Growing up between Windsor and London, Ontario, Matthew became obsessed with early Detroit Techno and Electro at a young age, which turned into a life-long addiction. For over 20 years, he has been collecting a myriad of synths, drum machines and vinyl.
Over the last decade, he has been involved in many projects including Black_, Sync Mode, Butr & Good, ALT255, and Montana Matthews Meets Nevada Brown. These projects have released music on No19, My Favorite Robot, Ellum and Obsolete Components, amongst others.
Matthew’s latest releases can be found on Oro Records, including Black_ (pronounced Black Space), a new electro project .
As of late, Matthew and his studio partner Jay Lemak have been exploring film scoring and sound design under the alias ALT255. They have recently finished multiple projects for Vice Canada.
