Arman and Arsha, two artists from Toronto, Canada, have come together in a way that can only be described as divine. Growing up in the most diverse city in the world, among people of all backgrounds and cultures, they’ve been drawing inspiration from Toronto’s vibrant community since childhood. Their roots and early musical influences can be traced to hip-hop, disco, reggae, soca, dancehall, house, techno, 90s dance & freestyle. This exposure over the span of years has enabled them to become master selectors behind the decks, seamlessly weaving between different electronic genres like tech house, techno, house, jackin’, deep tech and minimal.
Since forming in 2019, Theta State has played on the duality of darkness and light, yin and yang, transitioning between the two to create a magical synergy. With their old-school rave roots, this DJ & Producer duo is known for bringing hard, bass-heavy, and energetic sets that transcend genres.
In 2021, Theta State released their debut EP – ‘The Becoming’, on BeatsUnion. In 2023, they released their subsequent EPs – ‘Fight For It’ & ‘Resist’ on Bandcamp. Having rocked many local underground and afterhour dance floors locally in Toronto, and with their eyes on the globe, the year 2023 ended with their first international gig at the very special AFTER MOOD in Bogotá, Colombia. 2024 is an exciting year for Theta State, starting off with a 3-track EP release on an inspirational underground label this March.
