Louie Don came from a family of Dj’s and began Dj’ing in 1993 when he bought his first mixer at age 15. At that time he started collecting vinyl from classic house, hip hop to jungle. He later took interest in reggae & dancehall and in 1998 formed NU-X entertainment. NU-X began to play at local venues, then joined forces with Canada’s Dj Shadow who spun hip-hop, R&B and Soca and from there they played at the hottest venues in downtown Toronto and Montreal plus carried a late night radio show on CHIN FM.
In 2004/2005 he went solo playing more reggae roots & culture music,dub and lovers rock both modern and vintage, then became a part of Chronic Soundsystem Thursdays at Down One Lounge. He also was a part of Highgrade Productions opening for international Dj’s playing at top venues in Toronto. In 2010 to 2016 he was a monthly resident at Thymeless Reggae Bar spinning with Reggie Niceness, local and international dj’s/artists.
Louie Don’s talent extends far beyond just reggae and versatility is his calling card, transitioning from reggae to soca, to 80s rock to drum ‘n’ bass, and to house all in one set. Soca and House music are currently his main vibe.
He collaborates with his wife and they both formed hisxhers playing house music in Toronto.
